Summary

Electricity suppliers pay for using NIE’s network through charges such as DUoS (Distribution Use of System) and PSO (Public Service Obligation).

Under NIE’s payment security policy, a policy that is a requirement of their licence, suppliers are obliged to provide payment security for payments due to NIE. NIE is proposing changes to the level of payment security cover suppliers provide and has launched a consultation on their proposals.
