Utility Regulator Consults on Key Issues in the Development of its 5 year Corp
Published:
Summary
For the first time in its evolution the Utility Regulator has set out to formally plan, consult on, agree and then undertake a set of strategically considered themes and priorities for the next five years.
The purpose of this consultation document is to engage early, directly and transparently with our stakeholders to consult on, and hopefully stimulate a constructive debate about, the issues that are relevant to the building up of a 5 year Corporate Strategy. This consultation represents a first step and will thus form a foundation stone to the development of the actual Corporate Strategy document later this year.
Many issues are combining to set a strongly dynamic and multifaceted background for this 5 year planning horizon. The Utility Regulator sees the development of the Corporate Strategy as a way of thinking through and consulting with the stakeholders on these challenges and opportunities in a transparent and constructive way.
The Utility Regulator is hopeful that the stakeholders will take the opportunity to engage on the questions and issues raised in this document. At various points in the document there are specific consultation questions. We welcome views on these questions, and indeed on any other issues raised by the consultation and on which respondents would like to comment.
The intended timeline to delivery of the Corporate Strategy is:
July – Sep: Consultation on the key issues raised in this document. Further ongoing internal work and discussions as necessary with interested parties.
Oct – Dec: Reflection on comments raised during the consultation and further discussions or consultation with key stakeholders as necessary.
Jan - Mar 09: Final drafting and publication of Corporate Strategy document.
