Job description

The Utility Regulator is seeking to appoint a permanent:

HR and Payroll Officer

Salary is from £30,181- £33,043 per annum

Protecting Northern Ireland’s energy and water consumers today and tomorrow is what we do.

This is a great time to join us as we look to support the move to net-zero, whilst providing a stable investment environment, develop energy markets and improve consumer protection.

And we are changing too. You’ll be joining an organisation that is growing and transforming to meet the challenges of the future and protecting consumers in a changing world.

HR and Payroll Officer

Working as a HR and Payroll Officer within the Utility Regulator, you will play a key part in providing operational support across a broad generalist HR remit including recruitment and selection, equality, attendance management, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, wellbeing initiatives and payroll preparation.

This role will require a well-organised individual who can work flexibly and collaboratively in a professional manner to contribute to the provision and development of a broad ranging generalist HR service.

We offer an attractive package including a competitive starting salary with stepped increases per annum, alongside a range of other benefits including hybrid working, Northern Ireland Civil Service pension arrangements and 25 days annual leave (rising to 30 days after two years) and an additional 12 public and privilege days.

The closing date for applying is: 2:00pm, Friday 5 July, with interviews expected to take place late July.

Northern Ireland continues to have an under-representation of women across the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) industries. The Utility Regulator is an Equal Opportunities and Disability Confident Employer. As people with a disability, people from ethnic minority communities and women are currently underrepresented in the Utility Regulator, we would particularly welcome applications from these groups.
