Conclusions paper on virtual reverse flow rules and new entry point on the south-north pipeline

The Utility Regulator today publishes its conclusion paper on the business rules for the introduction of virtual reverse flow in Northern Ireland and a new entry point on the south-north pipeline.

These conclusions are part of the Utility Regulator’s work programme to satisfy infringement proceedings against the UK under Regulation (EC) 715/2009, which replaced Regulation (EC) 1775/2005.

These conclusions follow a consultation paper issued in April 2012 on the business rules for the introduction of virtual reverse flow rules in Northern Ireland and a new entry point on the south-north pipeline. We received two responses which have been considered in the preparation of the conclusions paper.

Based on the business rules the TSOs (transmission system operators) should now prepare the text of modifications to their respective codes for consultation with industry.

Copies of the document will be made available in large print, Braille, audio cassette and a variety of minority languages if required.
