A paper on our proposed revised Disability Action Plan (DAP) for the period 2024-2029 is now available on the consultation page.
The Utility Regulator’s Equality Scheme was approved by the Equality Commission in 2012 and the Disability Action Plan has now been reviewed in response to the statutory five-year review requirement set out in the original scheme.
A new Equality Scheme has not been developed for Commission approval. The scheme has been revised and amended to ensure that it is up to date to reflect changes that have been made to the organisational structure, functions and contact details.
The changes in the DAP are intended to promote and deliver our commitments for the next five years.
Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act places a duty on public authorities to have due regard to the need to promote equality of opportunity and regard to the desirability of promoting good relations between different categories. Full details can be found on the consultation page.
The consultation will be open until Monday 8 January 2024 at 2pm.
Responses to this consultation can also be made via Citizen Space.
