The Utility Regulator is today publishing its decision paper on the introduction of global settlement and the related licence modification.
Global settlement will have the effect of allocating any mismatch between total metered electricity generation and total metered electricity supply in Northern Ireland to all consumers equally, and not just Power NI consumers. This will not have a material effect on consumers but will ensure a level playing field for all suppliers.
The effect of the licence modification will be to remove the obligation on Power NI to register itself as the error supplier unit for Northern Ireland.
