Revocation of Power and Gas Ventures Limited’s gas and electricity supply licences

On 25 March 2013, the Utility Regulator received a request from Power and Gas Ventures Limited to revoke the licence for the supply of gas in Northern Ireland which was granted to them on 11 December 2007, and to revoke the electricity supply licence which was granted to them on 19 December 2007.

Power and Gas Ventures requested the revocation of the gas and electricity licences as they do not plan to start any activities in the Northern Ireland energy sector in the near future. Power and Gas Ventures is not, and has never been, an active supplier in the Northern Ireland gas or electricity markets, therefore no customers would be affected by the revocation of these gas and electricity supply licences.

On 29 March 2013, we gave notice to Power and Gas Ventures Limited that, in accordance with Condition 1(a) of Schedule 2 of each licence, their licence for the supply of gas in Northern Ireland and their electricity supply licence would be revoked with effect from 29 April 2013.
