A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Northern Ireland Authority for Utility Regulation (the Utility Regulator) and the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) on the development of the Common Arrangements for Gas (CAG) project was published today.
The Regulators are committed to working together to establish Common Arrangements for Gas that benefits end customers north and south, whereby all stakeholders can buy, sell, transport, operate, develop and plan the natural gas market across both jurisdictions. This means that variations in the price and conditions on which gas is bought and sold will be determined by market conditions and economics, not by variations in regulatory arrangements.
