Update on licensing arrangements for Aggregated Generator Units (AGUs) and Demand Side Units (DSUs)

Today the Utility Regulator publishes an update in relation to licensing arrangements for Aggregated Generator Units (AGU) and Demand Side Units (DSU).

In August 2014 we published a consultation paper on Aggregated Generator Units (AGU) and Demand Side Units (DSU) Licensing Arrangements. 13 responses were received to the consultation paper. The non-confidential responses are today published in full.

Since the consultation period closed we have considered these responses in detail. The responses highlighted a number of issues which we have progressed directly with prospective AGU/DSU licence holders and with transmission and distribution system operators. It is our priority to provide a regulatory framework that can efficiently facilitate the operation of AGUs and DSUs in the market. Additional work is therefore required by us and will be carried out in December to facilitate a decision on licensing arrangements in January 2015. However should further consultation be necessary, the revised timeline for licensing will be 31 March 2015.
