Utility Regulator consults on new gas storage licence for Islandmagee Storage Ltd

Summary
The Utility Regulator has today given notice of its intention to grant a gas storage licence to Islandmagee Storage Ltd (IMSL).
IMSL are currently progressing a project to store gas within salt layers in the Larne Lough area of Antrim.
IMSL has applied to the Utility Regulator for a gas storage licence since storing gas, in a gas storage facility, is a licensable activity in Northern Ireland under the Gas (Northern Ireland) Order 1996. The Gas Order also requires that the Utility Regulator gives notice of its intention to grant a licence and shall consider any representations or objections before granting a licence.
A copy of the proposed licence accompanies this notice.
