Utility Regulator consults on proposed transactional charges associated with electricity metering
Published:
Summary
NIE has proposed providing an additional service to suppliers regarding the replacement of electricity meters because of meter tampering and a related levy, called a ‘transactional charge’.
The Utility Regulator today publishes a consultation paper on the proposed transactional charges associated with the electricity meter replacement in these circumstances. Our consultation aims to obtain views and comments from stakeholders and interested parties on whether or not this transactional charge should be applied by NIE and, if so, the level and liability of these charges.
In addition, we are interested in obtaining views on whether there are other important issues that respondents consider relevant in this context which have not been considered within this consultation.
