A connections market which works well for Northern Ireland electricity consumers is essential. Getting connected easily and at a fair price is important for domestic and business consumers and generators. This should happen in way which means other network consumers only pay what is necessary for their energy.
We published a call for evidence in November 2016. We received 22 responses.
This paper is a further consultation on next steps.. It sets our view of how extensions should be treated, our proposal to clarify NIE Network’s and SONI’s ability to refuse to provide connection offers, and next steps on other connections issues.
