The Utility Regulator today announces the appointment of Mr Shane Lynch as its new Electricity Director.
Mr Lynch has worked in the electricity industry within Northern Ireland for 27 years. He was most recently employed by the AES Corporation where he worked for 17 years. At AES he was Managing Director of Kilroot Power Station and was most recently Development Director for Ireland.
Making the announcement, Iain Osborne, the Utility Regulator’s Chief Executive said:
“We are delighted to make this appointment. Shane is a highly skilled individual who will strengthen our senior team with his considerable commercial and management experience.
“He will take the lead in our work to ensure value and sustainability in the electricity sector, and will represent the Utility Regulator on electricity issues at domestic and European levels. He will also act as a key facilitator in increasing customer choice of energy suppliers.”
Mr Lynch is expected to take up the position in September and replaces Dermot MacCann.
