The Utility Regulator today publishes its Update on Our Overall Approach to the next price controls for Northern Ireland’s gas distribution network operators - Phoenix Natural Gas Limited and firmus energy (Distribution) Ltd. This price control will be referred to as GD14.
The price control process is necessary for us to review and set new limits on the revenue that Phoenix Natural Gas Limited and firmus energy (Distribution) Ltd can recover from customers, in order to operate their businesses. The price control will also review the framework of incentives for the companies to invest and operate efficiently.
On 3 December 2012, the Utility Regulator published a consultation paper setting out our proposed approach to the GD14 price control. We received four responses to this consultation:
• Phoenix Natural Gas
• firmus energy
• The Consumer Council
• Power NI
Having considered all responses and representations made to the consultation, the Utility Regulator now publishes its Update on the Approach to the GD14 price control.
Copies of the document will be made available in large print, Braille, audio cassette and a variety of minority languages if required.
