The Commission for Energy Regulation and the Utility Regulator (the Regulatory Authorities - RAs) are today publishing an update on the status of the Common Arrangement for Gas (CAG) project.
The RAs acknowledge that some time has passed since an up-to-date CAG work plan has been published and as such industry stakeholders require a clear statement on the status of the project.
The RAs are continuing to work on a small number of regulatory issues where there are still differences outstanding. We are confident that these can be resolved in the near future and expect to publish a revised work plan before the end of January 2011. It is also intended to hold an industry workshop following the publication of the revised work plan.
The RAs also acknowledge that a number of work streams have been progressed in 2010, including the development of a single CAG code and work the transmission companies have initiated on the joint venture arrangements for the single system operator.
The RAs have confidence that the arrangements being put in place now and in January 2011 will deliver a successful project going forward into 2011.
