The Utility Regulator today publishes a decision paper following its review of Generating Unit Agreements (GUAs) in Northern Ireland.
This follows a consultation paper that was published on 19 March 2014 and a market update that was published on 31 July 2014.
These GUAs are managed on behalf of consumers by Power NI Energy Limited’s Power Procurement Business (PPB) and relate to two generating units at Ballylumford power station that are owned by AES.
Following the conclusion of our review we have decided not to instruct cancellation of the two remaining GUAs at this time but to keep them under review from both a policy and economic perspective.
Copies of the document will be made available in a range of accessible formats on request.
