The Utility Regulator today commented on the 2.4% average increase to NI Water’s non-domestic water and sewerage charges for the 2015/16 financial year.
Commenting on the announcement by NI Water, Utility Regulator Chief Executive, Jenny Pyper said:
“While non-domestic customers will see a small increase in charges, the last two years have seen reductions in bills. It is important that the price paid for water and sewerage services reflects the actual cost of delivering these services to business properties and that charges are fair to all customers. This increase largely reflects the impact of rising costs for NI Water during 2015/16.
“We monitor and approve NI Water’s regulated water and sewerage charges by carrying a review of the company’s annual Scheme of Charges submission.”
The annual charges announced by NI Water reflect the price limits set in the price control for 2015 – 2021, also referred to as PC15.
This announcement marks the conclusion of a process that is undertaken by the Utility Regulator and NI Water, in consultation with the Department for Regional Development and the Consumer Council for Northern Ireland.
