The Utility Regulator today publishes its decision paper and approval of SONI’s Transmission Development Plan for Northern Ireland (TDPNI) 2018-2027.
The TDPNI is the proposals for the development of the electricity transmission network and interconnection over the ten years from 2018. This plan presents projects that are expected to be needed for the operation of the network in the short and medium-term.
The decision follows a consultation, to which six responses were received.
- NIRIG (NI Renewables Industry Group)
- MEL (Mutual Energy Limited)
- Energia
- SPR (Scottish Power Renewables)
- NIE Networks
- SSE Electricity
Responses are published in full at the links provided. The paper should also be read alongside SONI’s final version of the TDPNI 2018-2027 and SONI’s report on stakeholder views.
It is our decision that the 2018 TDPNI be approved and published based upon the version that was consulted upon. However, given consultation responses, there are a number of information areas which will need to be addressed in future plans. This is discussed further in the decision paper.
