The Utility Regulator is holding a stakeholder event on 30 August 2019 to discuss the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP) and any future energy efficiency provision in Northern Ireland. The purpose of the event is to stimulate dialogue on the NISEP. We will shortly publish a discussion paper to detail the evidence we have gathered to date on NISEP, which will facilitate discussions at the event. This approach will allow the maximum opportunities for stakeholders to discuss and inform future provision of energy efficiency support schemes. In relation to our review of NISEP, we have worked with the Department for the Economy (DfE) and The Consumer Council for Northern Ireland (CCNI) and have gathered a wide variety of evidence in relation to energy efficiency provision. Our event will take place on: Date: Friday 30 August 2019 Time: 9.00am registration (with a 9.30am start) - 1.00pm Venue: Ballroom, Stormont Hotel. It will no longer be held at our offices. If you would like to attend, please contact Patricia Stewart on 028 90316 353 or patricia.stewart@uregni.gov.uk The NISEP, formerly the Energy Efficiency Levy, has provided funding for energy efficiency schemes on an annual basis since 1997. This is funded through a charge applied to every unit of electricity (known as a Public Service Obligation, PSO). |
