In February 2020, the Utility Regulator (UR) received a request from ONI Electricity Limited to revoke its licence for the supply of electricity in Northern Ireland, which was granted on 21 December 2010. By its request, ONI Electricity Limited agreed that its electricity supply licence be revoked by the UR.
Similarly, in February 2020, we received a request from ONI Gas Limited to revoke its licence for the supply of gas in Northern Ireland, which was granted on 31 January 2011. By its request, ONI Gas Limited agreed that its gas supply licence be revoked by the UR.
ONI Electricity Limited and ONI Gas Limited (‘the Licensees’) requested the revocation of their licences as they are voluntarily winding up both entities.
The Licensees are not, and have never been, active suppliers in the Northern Ireland electricity and gas markets. Accordingly, no customers would be affected by the revocation of the licences.
On 10 March 2020, we gave Notice to the Licensees that, in accordance with section 1(a) of Schedule 2 to the electricity and gas supply licences, the licences would be revoked with effect from 9 April 2020.
