Job description
Protecting Northern Ireland’s energy and water consumers today and tomorrow is what we do.
This is a great time to join us as we look to support the move to net-zero, whilst providing a stable investment environment, develop energy markets and improve consumer protection.
And we are changing too. You’ll be joining an organisation that is growing and transforming to meet the challenges of the future and protecting consumers in a changing world.
Smart Meter Manager
Working as a Smart Meter Manager you will be responsible for leading and supporting the development of the Utility Regulator’s Smart Metering regulatory regime, including cross team working and liaison on all regulatory matters affected by the Smart Metering rollout. This role involves working closely with utilities, regulatory bodies and other stakeholders to promote efficient use of smart meters and adherence to regulations.
This role will require a well-organised individual who can collaboratively work in a professional manner with a diverse range of stakeholders, with strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
We offer an attractive package including a competitive starting salary with stepped increases per annum, alongside a range of other benefits including hybrid working, Northern Ireland Civil Service pension arrangements and 25 days annual leave (rising to 30 days after two years) and an additional 12 public and privilege days.
Northern Ireland continues to have an under-representation of women across the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) industries. The Utility Regulator is an Equal Opportunities and Disability Confident Employer. As people with a disability, people from ethnic minority communities and women are currently underrepresented in the Utility Regulator, we would particularly welcome applications from these groups.
