OFREG Information Notice - Direction to AES Kilroot on Compulsory Acquisition Powers

On 11 July 2006 the Northern Ireland Authority for Energy Regulation (NIAER) issued a Direction to AES Kilroot Power Ltd re-activating the compulsory acquistion powers contained in Condition 10 of its licence during the period from 11 July 2006 until 31 December 2007. Compulsory acquistion powers are a feature of all licences but these were allowed to lapse on 31 March 1996.

NIAER has the power to re-activate this licence condition and any licence holder who requires such condition to be re-activated may write to NIAER setting out its reasons for such a request.
